I started making these Nazar wall hangings after a recent trip to Turkey.
The main bead came to me from Washington, actually, but the small eye beads are from Turkey. Meanwhile, the African beads I got at a flea market in Santa Fe, New Mexico in the summer of 1996 and the metal beads are from an Afghanistan necklace I took apart.
Now this wall hanging, with blessings to you from all over the earth, is ready to hand next to your front door and protect you from the evil eye.
In Arabic, the blue eye charms are called the "ayin hasad " (eye of envy). The word "nazar" is derived from the Arabic نظر, "sight" or "seeing". They are reflective, since the blue bounces the evil eye back to the sender.
This listing is for one nazar. I will randomly pick one of the nazar's pictured.
